Natural Numbers and Whole numbers
When we count a set of objects, we start counting from one and then go on to two, three, four, etc. This is the natural way of counting any set of objects.

Zero means the absence of the item
Let us add one number number added to set of natural numbers

Set of Whole numbers consists of zero and natural numbers
Place value
Place values help us to write, read and understand the numbers. The number system used by us today has taken hundreds of years to develop. In this system, Any number can be written with the help of the symbols 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. These symbols are called digits. There are 10 digits in this number system. So they are called decimal number system.
To write numbers, we have the following place value chart popularly known as an International system of numeration. To read numbers conveniently we group place values into periods ones, thousands, millions and billions. The first three digits from the right of a numeral make one’s period. The next three make as thousand’s period, the next three as million’s and the next three as billion’s period. The digits in the same period are read together and the name of the period reads along with them.
3,564,541 is Three millions five hundred sixty four thousands five hundred forty-one
2,345 is Two thousands three hundred forty-five
The number expressed in the above table is 222= Two Hundred and Twenty-Two
